She attended Buena Vista University, majoring in secondary education and mathematics. So why did Kathy become a real estate agent? We asked her this and she replied, “After teaching English as a Second Language for years, I was ready to make a change. I wanted to pursue a career that was both challenging and allowed me the opportunity to use my knowledge and skills to help people and being a realtor was a perfect fit.” Kathy Holstein has received the C21 Sales Achievement Award in 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 for production, and has been awarded the CRS, GRI and ABR designations. She also has a Certified Home Marketing Specialist designation.“My only purpose is to deliver successful results” says Kathy. She has knowledge of the market trends, is able to utilize technology well and listens and understands the needs of each individual client. She specializes in relocations, first time home buyers, home re-sales, new construction, as well as lakefront homes and condos. Kathy tells us that her favorite part of being a real estate agent is not the commission check, but rather “helping each client fulfill their real estate needs, for buyers finding their ideal home, for sellers, getting their ideal asking price in the shortest amount of time.” Kathy gives the first-time home buyer this piece of advice, “Go to a local lender and discuss all the options, educate themselves in the lending and home buying process and get prequalified before beginning their search for the ideal home.” Clients come first in Kathy’s eyes. As she says, “I am totally committed to providing outstanding service to my clients in a manner that demonstrates personal integrity and professionalism, always placing my clients need in a position of top authority.” Kathy works hard to take care of all the details and paperwork for clients. She wishes to make the whole process and experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Kathy believes that the most challenging aspect of being a real estate agent is having the understanding of fair market values of homes in the area and helping clients either price their homes correctly for selling or make a good offer when buying. Kathy Holstein has called the Storm Lake area home for over 40 years. She and her husband have three grown daughters and six grandchildren.
